1:72 T-45 Centennial Jets Build

by Greg Drawbaugh
February 27th, 2012

Joel Arguelles from IPMS Manila, Philippines built the Testors T-45 Goshawk kits straight from the box and used our T-45C sets 72-T45-1 and 72-T45-2  While not quite T-45C’s, the models do a great job of capturing the look and feel of the Centennial T-45C’s.  Sometimes close enough is more than good enough, and these look great.

Also remember we have an extensive gallery of prototype photos of the two 1:1 scale T-45C’s courtesy of Gabe Pincelli.

Korean AF / RAAF/ Turkish AF Wedgetails Released

by Greg Drawbaugh
February 25th, 2012

Boeing has developed a smaller, more affordable Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) platform based on the 737-700 airframe.  The heavily modified aircraft feature a stationary overhead radar array, in place of a roto-dome, as found on the E-3 Sentry.  Australia was the launch customer with 6 aircraft.  Turkey and South Korea have followed with four aircraft each.  The Australia aircraft have been named Wedgetails, while the Turkish and South Korean examples utilize the project name for each – Peace Eagle and Peace Eye, respectively.

This set will letter one aircraft, and in 1:144 scale is intended to be used with the Contrails Wedgetail conversion with a shortened Revell 737-800 kit.  We also offer the set in 1:200 scale to be used with the Hasegawa 737-700 and scratch built components.

USAF MAC Gray and White C-5A’s Released

by Greg Drawbaugh
January 22nd, 2012

When Lockheed began delivering the world’s largest aircraft, the C-5A Galaxy to the U.S. Air Force in 1969, the aircraft were painted in the current Military Airlift Command (MAC) scheme of the day.  Eventually, 81 -A model aircraft were produced.  All were delivered in the color scheme represented by this very large and extensively detailed set which measures a full 9 x 9 inches and includes a four-page full-color instruction sheet.

The gray and white MAC scheme for the C-5A has been one of the most-requested sets, and we are pleased to add it to the nine other C-5 sets in our line.
