NASA 757 New Livery

I am pleased to provide this decal within months of the actual aircraft's painting.  N557NA was visiting MSP in November 2000 to test Honeywell's new microwave landing system.  The 757 would shoot approaches while the Honeywell Gulfstream GIV would "intercept" the approach to test the new systems.
The NASA people on board were nice enough to allow Mike Leach and Mike Bolden of Sun Country Airlines along with myself to visit inside the 757 and get a short demonstration of the aircraft's special furnishings.  The 757 is equipped with cameras on the leading edge of the tail as well as the on belly looking aft.  These were used to videotape the G-IV as it encroached on the 757's approach.  Needless to say, the view from the tail camera was breathtaking!  Flat screen displays were used to view the cameras signals and then recorded on analog equipment.
Curiously, the 757 still had the basic brown Eastern interior including the full aft galley.  About 30 or so seats were located in the far aft end of the aircraft for observers in addition to the technicians stations.  What we would have given for a ride!
One other interesting aspect about this 757 is that the wings and horizontal stabilizers are all painted white.  No corruguard here.  The tires were painted with white checks for another test NASA was conducting with the 757.
