Founded in 1976, Midway Airlines is widely recognized as the first post-deregulation start-up after the Airline Dereglation act passed in 1978. Part of Midway’s operation was a short-lived Midway Metrolink operation that had some of their aircraft configured in an all-business class 2 x 2 configuration. Cebu Pacific DC-9-30s Released
For a period from November of 1995 until 2008, Cebu Pacific Air of the Philippines operated a fleet of Douglas DC-9-30s. The fleet eventually number 19 airframes. This decal provides the markings for these venerable aircraft. Hughes Airwest DC-9-30s Released
Prior to its merger with Republic Airlines, Hughes Airwest operated a fleet of 32 Douglas DC-9-30 Series aircraft. This decal provides the markings for these airframes, including the transition markings worn during the merger period. Our newest decal joins our previously released Hughes Airwest set for the DC-9-15 and A380, and is available in 1:144, 1:200 and 1:72 scales. Valujet DC-9-30s Released
Valujet Airlines began life with great promise as a low-cost carrier in 1993. Operating from Atlanta, GA with used DC-9 aircraft (many from Delta), the airline grew rapidly, and achieved profitability faster than any airline in U.S. history. This set is for the Valujet DC-9-30s which were the heart of their operation. and is available in 1:144, 1:200 and 1:72 scales.
Purdue Airlines DC-9’s Released
For two years from 1969 to 1971, Purdue Airlines, based in West Lafayette, Indiana, operated three McDonnell-Douglas DC-9-30’s. The jet aircraft were a step up from Purdue’s previous DC-6 and DC-3 props. In reality, Purdue operated four DC-9s – the other being Hugh Hefner’s Black Bunny, for which the airline provided both crews and maintenance. The airline DC-9s wore this blue and white color scheme.
