Delta Air Lines was the first operator of the venerable Douglas DC-9, placing their first DC-9-14 into service on December 8, 1965. After the short-lived sideways "Widget" on the tail, the Delta fleet served in the standard Widget scheme until their sale to Southern Airways in 1973. -
In 1999, E-3A Sentry LX-N90442 was painted in this special livery to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the formation of NATO. This aircraft is one of the 17 E-3A operated by the NATO E-3A Component based at Geilenkirchen, Germany. The NATO E-3A squadrons are manned by international crews integrated from 12 nations (Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the United States). The E-3As have been operating from Geilenkirchen since February 1982. Forward operating bases are located at Trapani, Italy; Aktion, Greece; and Konya, Turkey. There is also a Forward operating location (FOL) at Orland, Norway. -
Sponsored by Rockwell-Standard Corp, a pair of TWA pilots led a group who flew “Pole Cat” around the world via both poles in November 1965. Brand new and after only completing one revenue round trip for Flying Tigers, N322F “Pole Cat” set eight world records, consumed 117,354 gallons of aviation fuel and carried 39 very lucky persons around the world in 51.5 hours flying time. Our decal has been completely updated and now includes the registrations for all four 707-349Cs in the Tigers delivery scheme. -
USAir introduced a new corporate color scheme in August 1989, at the time of the final integration of Piedmont Airlines. The aircraft were overall bare metal, with light gray wings, wing-body fairing, horizontal stabilizers, #2 inlet section, gear doors, and radome. -
Prior to the termination of a long-term contract in 2004, Ryan International Airlines operated 11 Boeing 727-200 freighters for Emery Worldwide, in full Emery colors. The aircraft were owned by Emery, but leased to Ryan. Eight non-advanced ex-United Airlines 727-222s were acquired in 1994-95, followed by three Advanced 727-225s in 1999 (coming from Northwest Airlines). -
At one time, Emery Worldwide owned a large fleet of Boeing 727-100 aircraft. Throughout most of their time with Emery, the aircraft were operated under contract by Ryan International Airlines in Emery colors. The aircraft were acquired beginning in the 1980s, and originally operated in a mostly red color scheme. In the late 80s, Emery adopted a new livery featuring red and green stripes depicted by this set. -
In the early 1990s, the United States Postal Service introduced a new logo scheme for all of its services. These new colors found their way onto the 727F fleet that was operating under contract for the USPS out of the Eagle Hub in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Postal contract was held by Emery Worldwide, which owned the aircraft. However, operation of the aircraft was sub-contracted to Ryan International Airlines (17 727-100s) and Express One Airlines (seven 727-200s). The paint scheme was relatively simple, yet attractive, with an all-white fuselage and a blue vertical stabilizer featuring the white eagle logo. A thin red pinstripe was located above the cabin windows, with black USPS titles. -
In 1997, Qatar Airways painted at least two of its remaining Boeing 727-200s in its newer color scheme. This decal provides the markings for A7-ABC and A7-ABG.

How did we get our Name?
My father is a US Army-trained draftsman, and he always signed his drawings with the initials “DRAW.” Since we have to DRAW our decals, and DRAW is also the first four letters of my last name, it seemed to be a natural name for our company.
What is the idea behind DRAW Decal?
I produce airline decals that normally would not be popular enough to justify mass producing. Each decal is printed as demand warrants, one page at a time by a professional print house. This makes for slow production, but it allows us to individually inspect each decal and to also update the decal sets as the need arises. While these production sets are all currently available, they are only produced (i.e. printed) as they are ordered. I have no large pile of unsold, unpopular decals to contend with this way. Our decals are as close to custom-made as possible.
Who creates your art?
The art work for our decals is created by a group of artists, with each one contributing sets of their own unique design and preference. Currently, DRAW Decal offers decals designed by: Tim Bradley, Mike Egan, Norm Filer, Mike Jernfors, Jeff Thomsen and yours truly, Greg Drawbaugh. Each set is identified by whom designed it unless I was the one who designed it.
How do I do that?
Our decals are printed in our exclusive Next Generation DIGITAL Silk process using a large format digital printer that prints white ink. We do NOT sell ANY laser-printed decals. Laser printers are for printing instruction sheets, not printing decals.
We are made the switch to our latest Next Generation DIGITAL Silk process to provide what we believe to be among the highest quality decals in the industry. We also want to be able to provide subjects that just would not print well using any other process. Quality and value have always been our driving force, and we continue to push the limits of what our printer and artwork is capable of producing. We operate under a continual improvement process for all of our decals.
Do you run out of stock?
No, as I print decals only as they are ordered. This ensures that the decals are fresh and never out of stock. This also allows me to make corrections and additions to each set as they occur.
Once applied, these decals will look just like they were painted on, rather than just “stickers” applied over a paint job. Remember, the art of decaling is making it look like you did not use any decals!
