Founded by George T. Baker, Miami-based National Airlines operated until 1980 when they were acquired by Pan Am. National was an early user of the DC-10 trijet taking delivery of DC-10-10 N60NA in 1971. Longer range DC-10-30s were added in 1973. Our decal depicts the classic National “Sun King” scheme for their DC-10 fleet. Our decal includes the ship names: Barbara, Suzanne, Frances, Wisty, Renee, Marlene and Timmi. -
Winston-Salem based Piedmont Airlines acquired Boeing 727-200 aircraft in the early 1980s. The stretched Tri-Jet would expand Piedmont service into the American West, including Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco. All aircraft were second-hand frames, including a large batch from PSA. This decal provides the markings for Piedmont’s 727-200 Pacemakers. -
On August 5, 1989, Piedmont Airlines was formally merged into USAir. Most of the Piedmont 727-200 fleet operated for a time after the merger date with Piedmont stripes, but the new titles introduced by USAir for the combined airlines. Some aircraft were never repainted into USAir’s new colors and were retired with their Piedmont stripes intact. -
Beginning in 1976, Hughes Airwest added 727-200 aircraft to its fleet of DC-9s and Fokker F-27s. The fleet would reach 11 frames, before the merger with Republic. Two additional frames from the Hughes order were delivered to Republic. This decal provides the markings for the Hughes 727-200 fleet, including transition Republic markings during the merger period. -
Royal Jordanian Airlines, the flag carrier of Jordan, was formed in 1963 by the late King Hussein. The airline operated the 727-200 up until 1990 in this classic scheme, which while modified still remains in use today. The late King Hussein was also a pilot and flew the 727 as well as many other types. This decal is designed to work with multiple kits including the CRM kit in 1:144 scale. -
Minnesota-based Sun Country Airlines was founded by a group of former Minneapolis-based Braniff employees and started service in 1983 with a lone 727. The airline expanded and later operated DC-10s along with their 727 fleet. The 727s lasted until the arrival of the 737-800s, and were all retired by 2002. Our decal depicts the final scheme worn by 15 different Sun Country 727-200s and is designed to work with multiple kits including the CRM kit in 1:144 scale. -

In the late 1990s, USAir changed its name to US Airways and refreshed its branding and color scheme with dark blue and gray. This decal provides the markings for the airline’s fleet of 737-300s in those “new” colors. -

Air France operated a fleet of 10 of the A380 Super Jumbos. All of them were pulled out of service in 2020 and most are already being scrapped. Our decal depicts the iconic Air France scheme on the A380. -
Northwest Airlines cargo division operated a fleet of fourteen 747-200 freighters. Ten of these 747s were factory-built 747-200Fs, and four were converted 747-200s. When Northwest dropped the “Orient” from their name after the Republic merger, an updated scheme appeared on the 747 freighters. Our decal depicts this updated, second scheme which was used only on only the factory-built 747-200Fs. -
Qantas operates a fleet of 12 of the A380 Super Jumbos. This decal provides the markings for these aircraft in the earlier, simplified version of the classic Qantas scheme.

How did we get our Name?
My father is a US Army-trained draftsman, and he always signed his drawings with the initials “DRAW.” Since we have to DRAW our decals, and DRAW is also the first four letters of my last name, it seemed to be a natural name for our company.
What is the idea behind DRAW Decal?
I produce airline decals that normally would not be popular enough to justify mass producing. Each decal is printed as demand warrants, one page at a time by a professional print house. This makes for slow production, but it allows us to individually inspect each decal and to also update the decal sets as the need arises. While these production sets are all currently available, they are only produced (i.e. printed) as they are ordered. I have no large pile of unsold, unpopular decals to contend with this way. Our decals are as close to custom-made as possible.
Who creates your art?
The art work for our decals is created by a group of artists, with each one contributing sets of their own unique design and preference. Currently, DRAW Decal offers decals designed by: Tim Bradley, Mike Egan, Norm Filer, Mike Jernfors, Jeff Thomsen and yours truly, Greg Drawbaugh. Each set is identified by whom designed it unless I was the one who designed it.
How do I do that?
Our decals are printed in our exclusive Next Generation DIGITAL Silk process using a large format digital printer that prints white ink. We do NOT sell ANY laser-printed decals. Laser printers are for printing instruction sheets, not printing decals.
We are made the switch to our latest Next Generation DIGITAL Silk process to provide what we believe to be among the highest quality decals in the industry. We also want to be able to provide subjects that just would not print well using any other process. Quality and value have always been our driving force, and we continue to push the limits of what our printer and artwork is capable of producing. We operate under a continual improvement process for all of our decals.
Do you run out of stock?
No, as I print decals only as they are ordered. This ensures that the decals are fresh and never out of stock. This also allows me to make corrections and additions to each set as they occur.
Once applied, these decals will look just like they were painted on, rather than just “stickers” applied over a paint job. Remember, the art of decaling is making it look like you did not use any decals!
