In 1970, the Royal Air Force ordered 10 Lockheed C-5A Galaxy heavy transports to update the country’s strategic airlift capability. In RAF service, the aircraft was designated Galaxy C.Mk1. Following tradition, the individual aircraft received names, in this case Roman deities.
