North Carolina-based Piedmont Airlines was known as the “Up and Coming Airline” for its growth from a small regional carrier to one of the United States’ Majors (revenue greater than $1 billion) in a few short years following deregulation. An early customer for the 737, the airline would go on to become the world’s largest 737 operator by the late 1980s, prior to its buyout by and merger with USAir. We are releasing three separate decals in the markings for the final full Piedmont color scheme for the 737-200 fleet, the 737-300 fleet and a “what if” for the 737-400 fleet, which Piedmont was the launch customer.
